Hormonal Acne - Understanding Why and How It Can Be Controlling

If you've been plagued with acne, you may have tried many different types of over-the-counter topical creams and lotions only to find they don't really get rid of your problem. Or, they only treat your current acne symptoms rather than preventing further breakouts from occurring. For those who suffer from chronic acne problems, finding a permanent solution that works for you may be a challenge. However, there are ways to help you take care of your acne so you can say goodbye to the inconvenience for good.

The most common cause of hormonal acne is puberty. Puberty is a time of great change for both girls and boys. This is the time when the glands in the body to release the sex hormones, particularly testosterone, into the body. In addition, it is also during this time when many people see the appearance of acne on their faces. This is why it is very important to pay close attention to where your acne is located on the face.

As men and women enter menopause, their estrogen levels begin to decline. This is a time when the skin can become affected by increased production of oil and secretion of excess sebum. As a result of hormonal changes, acne may become more prominent as well as red and irritated. To prevent further breakouts, it is important to maintain the proper balance of estrogen levels in your body.

During puberty, there is an abundance of hormones in the body. Because of this, there is a massive surge in the amount of oil produced by the glands. This extra oil combines with dead skin cells to block the pores on the skin. This creates a perfect environment for bacteria to grow and eventually form acne.

The reason that hormonal changes can lead to acne is because of a disturbance in the balance ofandrogens and estrogens in the body. When a woman enters menopause, her hormones shift dramatically. At this time, her body produces androgens (male hormones) at a much higher rate than the estrogen produced. This hormonal imbalance results in excess sebum and hair growth around the face. Since the sebaceous glands produce a large amount of oil, this can clog the pores on the skin. This results in the skin condition known as acne.

When the sebum clogs the pores, bacteria will begin to grow in the open pore. These bacteria cause inflammation, redness, and irritation around the pore. The body reacts to this problem by sending white blood cells to the affected areas to fight off the infection. This causes the symptoms to worsen as white blood cells begin to damage the tissue. This results in swelling and pain, as well as the redness and inflammation becoming worse. This is why it has been commonly used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.

One of the best ways to combat this problem is through the use of topical retinoids. Topical retinoids are chemical compounds that can help to get the body back into balance. They work by removing excess sebum and also killing off any bacteria that is trying to live inside the open pores of the skin. They do this by stopping signals from the immune system to these harmful bacteria and also preventing any new dead skin cells from forming.

Since hormones play such an important role in the development of our bodies, it makes sense that they may also play a part in the development of acne during puberty. Because acne tends to occur more during puberty, finding a way to control hormone fluctuations can be quite challenging. For those who suffer from acne during puberty, topical retinoids may be the best treatment for you.
