Getting To grips With Acne Stress

Acne Stress

What is acne stress? Acne is caused by a combination of several factors. One of them is the level of testosterone in the body. If your body has too much testosterone, it can cause hormonal imbalance and consequently acne.

The other factors that can cause acne stress are unhealthy diets. Excessive sugar intake can also cause acne, though not to the extent as that of excess hormones. However, acne sufferers who consume sugary food report more hormonal imbalances than others who do not eat this type of food. Stress and poor health can lead to the overproduction of sebum or oil. This is what causes acne, and it is what also contributes to acne breakouts.

So how does acne stress arise? There are a number of possible causes. Stress is a part of life, and people react to stress in different ways. Some become more stressed than others, and some people are able to handle stress better than others. However, the body responds to stress in a way that can result in increased levels of hormones like testosterone.

The acne-causing hormones in acne may then increase in concentration, which in turn may intensify acne breakouts. This is because the increased level of hormones has been associated with greater levels of energy. It is very important for acne sufferers to remember that increased levels of hormones can only aggravate an already existing condition. So while acne stress may not be directly the cause of acne, it can increase the severity of the condition, causing further complications.

What is the best way to combat acne stress? While stress itself cannot cause acne, it can increase its intensity and duration. Therefore it is best to try and manage stress as best as possible, so that it does not add to your general acne condition. You may have to change your lifestyle a little bit if you live in a busy area, but try and spend as much time out of the hustle and bustle as possible, or take up relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation to help you to relax.

Stress relief techniques should include some form of exercise to help improve your general well-being. Many acne sufferers are generally overweight, and this excess weight adds additional strain on the body. Try to eat less food that is high in fat, sugar and salt, and try to increase your intake of fresh fruit and vegetables. If you have acne, you will also need to cut down on oily, fatty and junk food, as these types of food are also a major contributor to acne outbreaks. Make sure that you get plenty of sleep, at least 8 hours per night, as your body needs time to repair itself after the daily stress.

Stress can also be relieved by having regular massages. By having frequent massages, you will be able to release the stress from your body. There are many types of massages available, so you should be able to find one that suits your particular needs and desires. Alternatively, you could try a simple aromatherapy massage, which involves relaxing your mind with the aroma of aromatherapy oils and gently massaging the skin.

Finally, try and let go of any guilt you feel about picking and choosing the things you want to put into your mouth. Even if you haven't picked pimple lately, it is likely that you would have done so had you been confronted with a choice between a burger and fries. If you feel guilty about picking, choosing or popping the pimple, then you should immediately consult a dermatologist. The doctor will be able to advise you on the best way to deal with acne, whether it be through medication natural remedies or more drastic measures such as laser surgery. By consulting with a qualified expert, you should be able to get rid of your pimples once and for all.

How To Reduce Your Exposure To Allergic Reactions To Ragweed

Ragweed is probably one of the worst known environmental allergens which doctors to see, and it is estimated that up to 10 percent of Americans have it. "It's everywhere - on our clothes, the foods we eat, our cars, even our hands," says Mary E. Zuber, MD, a dermatologist in Scarsville, Utah. "We know that ragweed has the potential to cause problems for people who suffer from asthma or allergic rhinitis." What's more, the extent of the problem is probably under-recognized, since many patients do not realize they're prone to ragweed until it is too late. Unfortunately, the extent of the problem may also be under-treated, because doctors are less likely to look for skin rashes, itchy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, coughing, and chest congestion - all classic signs of ragweed allergy in humans. Even in areas where ragweed allergy is not common, the plant can still be a big problem, especially during ragweed season (also called autumn leaf fever) when it launc...
