Acne Marks - Acne Treatment Options

Dark spots from past acne, red acne scarring, particularly if left unchecked, will be visible on the face for many years after the acne itself and blemishes have gone away. Sadly, post acne scars and acne marks are unfortunately all too common to anyone who has ever suffered from acne. It's estimated that anywhere between fifty and eighty percent of adults suffer with acne at some point in their lives. For boys, it's more like an estimated sixty-five percent. It is a good chance that acne will affect a teenage boy at some point. Acne can affect anyone no matter their age or where they are in life.

The cause of acne is the same, the acne causing bacteria clogging pores and the pores then become infected and causes blackheads, whiteheads, or pockmarks. Blackheads are the ones that are most easily noticeable because they come in the largest number, but there are pockmarks too. They are small dark spots that may not go away on their own, but if you do not deal with them, over time they can look worse and darker. Pockmarks can usually be identified by doctors as being raised, scaly, shallow, and are generally brown in color.

The problem with acne scars and breakouts is that people will do almost anything to get rid of them, even if the breakouts never go away. Acne will cause the skin to produce more oils so your body becomes more susceptible to acne scars or blemishes. Even just a short amount of time that you were out in a hot environment could leave behind those reminders of the old breakouts. Acne can leave behind small holes in the skin, these can then be plugged with makeup, make up removers, and other products.

Pimples also leave behind lighter colored marks. These can range from dark red or pink, to light purple or green. The deeper the color of the pimple the more noticeable they appear. They are usually noticeable around the face but may also be found on the back or chest. Pimples can also leave behind some dark red or purple blood vessels.

Not all treatments are for acne scars and blemishes. Many times it depends on the severity of the marks. You may need to have laser treatments, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, dermabrasion, collagen treatments, microdermabrasion and filler treatments done. It all depends on how deep the mark is, how many, and how visible they are to you. The treatments may also vary based on the type of marks.

For dark scarring or acne scars that are not very noticeable laser treatments may be needed. For lightening a pimple or blackhead you may use a chemical peel. Chemical peels help fade the skin complexion that a scar or mark has left. Some of these peels can cause a dark purplish tint. Filler treatments work by injecting a substance deep into the skin that fill the depression created by the scar or mark.

There are also several home remedies to treat your acne breakouts. For whiteheads, ice can effectively reduce and clear out the breakouts. Another home remedy is to make a paste out of honey and lemon juice and apply it to the acne marks. These remedies should only be used in the most severe cases, as they may irritate the skin.

Acne scar treatments can be performed at home or at a dermatologist office. If you are trying a natural treatment at home, make sure that it does not contain ingredients that can damage your skin further. There are many different chemical peels and laser scar treatments available to you at your local drugstore or pharmacy. Before you make an appointment with a dermatologist, make sure that you discuss what type of treatment options you feel comfortable pursuing. The sooner you seek treatment the less of a chance that you will need to seek treatment again in a few years.

What Are Your Choices For Treatments For Acne?

When you think of treatments for acne, what are the first ideas that come to your mind? Many people turn to over-the-counter drugs and lotions to treat their acne. While these products can give some initial relief, they do not treat the underlying causes of acne and it can take months or even years for acne to clear up. For many people, this is simply not an effective way to deal with the problem. There are many alternative treatments available today. Some of the most common acne treatments in Australia include oral preparations, which are usually applied directly to the affected skin (typically applied with a suppository or pads) or taken orally with a glass of water. Topical preparations that are applied to the surface of the skin are also used to treat acne. They are often used for moderate to ...

How To Reduce Your Exposure To Allergic Reactions To Ragweed

Ragweed is probably one of the worst known environmental allergens which doctors to see, and it is estimated that up to 10 percent of Americans have it. "It's everywhere - on our clothes, the foods we eat, our cars, even our hands," says Mary E. Zuber, MD, a dermatologist in Scarsville, Utah. "We know that ragweed has the potential to cause problems for people who suffer from asthma or allergic rhinitis." What's more, the extent of the problem is probably under-recognized, since many patients do not realize they're prone to ragweed until it is too late. Unfortunately, the extent of the problem may also be under-treated, because doctors are less likely to look for skin rashes, itchy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, coughing, and chest congestion - all classic signs of ragweed allergy in humans. Even in areas where ragweed allergy is not common, the plant can still be a big problem, especially during ragweed season (also called autumn leaf fever) when it launc...
